Have you watched make-up tutorials, or even your friends when getting ready and thought “why does that look easier than it is?” Well, with the following steps from a talented makeup artist from Fancy Lash, learning how to achieve a natural makeup look CAN be easy!
As an expert in applying foundation and crafting the perfect ‘, I woke up like this look, let’s dive into all my Steps and tricks.
Things you’ll need to get the natural look:
- Blending Sponge
- Translucent powder
- Bronzer & Blusher
- Eyebrow pencil
- Eyelash extensions
- Light and natural eye shadow
- Nude lipstick
Step #1: Customise your base
Our favourite way to get a natural base is by mixing moisturiser with the foundation to make the coverage a little more minimal while creating a natural finish.
If you want a bit more of a glow, add a little Strobe Cream to the foundation to reduce the heaviness of the base while still creating a fresh and natural look.
Step #2: Lessen the concealer
While we often go hard with concealer this can lead to ashy under eyes. Get a more natural finish by looking yourself in the eye when applying concealer. We focus on our imperfections, when applying which leads to using a bit too much.
Look into the eyes and only conceal the things you notice in the peripheral vision. Always remember that most of our imperfections are something that we only see ourselves.
Step #3: Opt for eyelash extensions
Avoid having to use mascara with eyelash extensions from Fancy Lash. We can offer a natural look that will make it seem as though you have no fake lashes at all!
Step #4: Ignore makeup labels
Makeup should be multi-purpose. You can create a natural look by using a product in a way that it’s not designed for.
For example, you can create a great shadow for the look of a soft natural eye with a wash of bronzing powder. Simply sweep it over the eyelid then add a touch more into the socket for natural definition.
Step #5: Opt for definition with a clever contour
Use a bronzing powder in Matte Bronze to create definition by sweeping it under the cheek, then running it from the top of the ear towards the corner of the lip. You’ll love how this looks!
Step #6: Mute your blush
The no-makeup-makeup look is easy if you apply your blush as normal, but then give it a once over with your used foundation brush. This helps mute a bold blush by giving it a softer finish.
Step #7: Ensure the right bronzer placement
Avoid using a bronzing powder like a fake tan by applying it all over the face. Instead, create a more natural finish by applying it around the outside edge of your face and lightly under the cheekbones.
Step #8: Fluff your lipstick
Matte or nude lipstick can have a softer finish if dampened by a small fluffy makeup brush with a little MAC Prep+Prime Fix+, next, use the brush to buff the colour into your lips creating a diffused, long-lasting, matte lip stain.” Pretty and practical.
